FIU's Model United Nations Program was ranked fourth in North America by BestDelegate.com, who released their Fall Rankings earlier this week. The website, considered to be the premiere authority on all things 'MUN' had this to say about our Panthers Fall Semester:
"Florida International University kept up its status as a P5 level delegation by being among the top five teams at each of the three most competitive conferences of the semester. Competing as a small delegation, FIU took Best Small Delegation at CMUNNY with nearly every member of their delegation taking home awards. FIU then went on to a third-place finish at NCSC behind only the two large delegation award winners, Harvard and UChicago. Finally, it put in a top five performance at UPMUNC and contended for a delegation award there. Next up for the team will be attempting to win the Outstanding Large Delegation award (or better) for the third year in a row at HNMUN."

This is the highest FIU has ever ranked, matching their fourth place ranking achieved at the end of Spring 2015. Students worked tremendously hard at conferences hosted by Columbia, Georgetown and The University of Pennsylvania in order to earn this ranking. Six of those students, Mariya Solomiy, Chris Horta, Monica Fernandez, Raineldo Urbina, Lourdes Ginart and Kristen Nyman graduated this week and will take the skills and memories of Model UN as they pursue what will certainly be successful careers. Congratulations and thank you for all of your dedication and hard work to the Program! And a special thank you and congratulations to Dean Stack, The Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs, The Student Government Association and the President's Council for their continued support of the program!
Next semester the Model UN team will add new students to the team and travel to McGill, Harvard and The University of Chicago, among other places, in an effort to maintain the Program's standard of excellence. Students interested in joining the Program should send an email to email@example.com. Applications can be found under the "Become a Delegate" tab on our website.
