Welcome to October 28th, 2022; as of today, Elon Musk has bought Twitter in its entirety. In an alternate timeline, he would’ve fired the entirety of the Board of Directors and in less than a year, ruined the website’s credibility, brand salience, and ability to function... but we do not live in that timeline. Instead, you have all been allowed to stay, and help him run this company. In a time of disinformation, global mass communication, and a massive crisis of credibility, Twitter stands as a platform for the mightiest of all to interact with every one of their followers; a place where movements have been born and where many others have fizzled out. In the wake of Musk’s acquisition, you will be tasked with keeping the company afloat, whilst preparing for the inevitable. Will you help defy the odds and save Twitter? Will you create a successful competitor? Will you use the flagrant misinformation to begin a movement? (Yeah, that one will be popular.) Whatever you choose, be ready to decide the future of the most influential social media platform of all time, or at least advise a megalomaniac as he decides it.
