Director
Jason Salguero
Jason Salguero is a junior at Florida International University triple-majoring in International Relations, Political Science, and Philosophy with a certification in Law, Ethics, and Society. Last year they served as the Secretary-General as well as the Co-Director for the United Nations Correspondents Association, but this year they’ve decided to bring a committee they’ve wanted to do since their sophomore year of high school. They currently serve as one of FIU Model UN’s Head Delegates with a keen eye for General Assembly committees, but they’ve been known to dabble in Crisis and Specialized at times. Outside of competing at Model UN conferences and rambling about the Trusteeship Council, they are an avid reader and writer, attempting the daunting task of reading a book every week.
Chair
Nicholas Veliz
Nicholas Veliz is a second-year student majoring in Computer Engineering here at FIU. He is deeply interested in international tech policy and building coding projects as well as learning about new technologies as a member of INIT. Nicholas joined MUN in his second year of University and had participated in Model UN all throughout highschool and was even a Head delegate at his school. While debating in the highschool circuit he won several awards including an award at the largest conference in North America NAIMUN which is an international conference hosted by Georgetown University. In his spare time he tutored middle and other high school students on research skills and speech prep. Now he is chairing his first conference at FIU and preparing to represent FIU at college conferences. When he isn’t researching for MUN or studying for his Engineering exams he is cooking up some high protein meals while listening to indie music. Most importantly, he is excited to be chair of the Trusteeship Council.
