Topic Summary

Not all battles make headlines. Some begin in forgotten rooms, on maps that no longer match the world outside. Memory clashes with authority, and silence is often louder than any declaration. As a General Assembly Ad-Hoc committee, the topic will remain unknown until shortly before the conference begins, challenging you to think quickly and navigate uncertainty. In this committee, truth may feel like a shifting thing, shaped by who speaks it, and who is allowed to listen. You will not know what you’re walking into until the doors close behind you. All that’s certain is this: the question is older than you think, and the answer may not be yours to give.

Experienced delegates are encouraged to participate in this GA committee.
No Position Papers Are Required

Director: Natalie Alguera

Natalie Alguera is a second-year student at FIU’s Honors College, studying Business Administration and Management on the pre-law track. She began participating in Model UN in high school and has been an active member of FIU MUN since her first semester, with her awards contributing to the program’s #3 ranking in North America. During her first year on the collegiate circuit, she traveled nationwide, placing in both GA and crisis committees and earning a gavel. At last year’s FIMUN, Natalie chaired the São Paulo Forum and has also volunteered on the dais at several South Florida conferences. She now contributes to the team’s leadership as Co-Social Chair. Beyond MUN, she is a Civic Circle Fellow at FIU’s Adam Smith Center and a member of Phi Alpha Delta, FIU’s pre-law fraternity. Natalie enjoys traveling (visiting 13 countries in six years) as well as dancing, attending concerts, dining out, and spending time with loved ones. She’s excited to direct this Gad-Hoc and share her energy with you all.

Chair: Nicolas Blanco Bordon

Nicolas Blanco Bordon is a first-year student at Florida International University, pursuing a degree in Economics focused on the mathematical side of the field. Starting in Sophomore year of highschool, he has been an active MUN member with one of his fondest memories being in FIMUN 36. Now, he is participating as a member of the FIU MUN team and preparing himself for future competitions. Outside of Model UN, you will find him in the library studying, in the gym working out, or at home watching essay videos on fictional worlds ranging from SCP to Warhammer 40k. He’s excited to chair this Gad-Hoc and see how delegates quickly adapt to the committee.
