Director
Tracy Mussotte
Tracy is a FIU sophomore, majoring in Physics and Philosophy with a minor in Mathematical Sciences. She grew up fond of the arts and science but also having an urge to advocate on others behalves. Which is what drew her to MUN as from a young age she saw the need to speak up for those who could not. Alongside being raised in South Florida by Haitian parents Tracy chose FIU to stay around a diverse community environment that she was used to growing up. At FIU she wants to learn how and why the universe around us works, because it’s important to first understand than to be understood. Outside of all the analytical, Tracy has grown fond of creative works through music and film and constantly working on new projects to express herself and help others.
Chair
Cayetana Velasco
Cayetana Velasco is a first-year international student from Lima, Peru, currently majoring in Political Science at FIU with aspirations of becoming a lawyer. Her Model U.N journey began in 2020 during an online conference, and since then, she has never looked back. Over the years, she has been a part of the Secretariat at her school and participated in over ten local and international conferences. Her passion for debate is reflected through her interest in humanitarian, social, and economic issues, especially at the intersection of politics and economics. Joining the FIU Model UN team this year has definitely been an exciting new opportunity for Cayetana. When she’s not immersed in MUN, you’ll probably find her either binge-watching Gilmore Girls for the hundredth time, reading a book, or switching between her three fave music genres: reggaeton, house music, and obviously Taylor Swift.
