United Nations Correspondents Association

The United Nations Correspondents Association (UNCA) acts as the official press corps for UN events. Established in 1948, the UNCA recognizes excellence in journalism globally. The UNCA this year will be composed of party-run and party-funded media, allowing delegates to explore the ways in which these interactions of media and political parties can influence topics covered and the biases employed in writing.
This Committee is a Journalistic Committee and Operates with Press Corps Procedure

Director
Grace Martinez

Grace Martinez is a senior double majoring in Political Science and International Relations with a certificate in Latin American and Caribbean Studies. She has participated in Model UN since her sophomore year of high school and where she later became the president of the middle school MUN team. She previously competed in Press Corp at FIMUN35 and was the chair for the UNCA at FIMUN36. Outside of MUN, Grace can be found curled up with a good book on history or fiction and writing (thus her interest in doing UNCA this year), and can't wait to see what stories of diplomacy will come out of these committees.

Chair
Cosette Lipscomb

Cosette Lipscomb is a sophomore majoring in marine biology. She is from North Fort Myers, but has lived in many different countries around the world. This is her first year on the FIU Model United Nations team, but has been proud to represent her school at many different conferences and events. Cosette can also be seen working for the student newspaper at FIU, as well as other clubs such as the French club. Outside of class, she enjoys spending time with her friends, listening to music, and scuba diving. She is very excited to see the amazing work delegates will produce in this committee, and hopes that this will also inspire delegates to improve and focus on expanding their world view.
