BACKGROUND GUIDE
Topic Summary
Topic A: Reduction of Pollution and Waste in Our Oceans
Topic B: Conservation of Coral Reefs
Oceans make up 70% of our planet and contain 97% of its water. With the rise in global warming, pollution, disease, and more, many underwater creatures are beginning to feel the consequences. Many marine organisms rely on this aquatic ecosystem, which is why it is important to start conservation efforts within endangered and fragile environments as early as possible. The UNEP aims to tackle these issues at the root and provide both short-term and long-term solutions. Delegates will be tasked with creating a draft resolution that presents detailed research and offers realistic solutions that promote marine conservation, sustainable resource management, and the preservation of global marine biodiversity.
This committee is a single delegate committee. This committee is reccommedended for delegates new to Model United Nations
